About the Role

Credit Underwriting Officer directly reporting to Head of Credit Underwriting and being responsible as credit analysts, accountable for the overall performance of credit portfolio in terms of credit quality, risk management, and customer satisfaction. 

Work Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze credit applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
  • Assist Head of Dept. to develop and implement credit underwriting strategies that support the organization's business goals, including credit growth, profitability, and risk management.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to identify and mitigate credit risk.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, vendors, regulators, and industry associations.
  • Monitor and analyze credit portfolio performance metrics, such as delinquency rates, charge-offs, and credit quality, to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary actions.
  • Assist Head of Dept to develop and manage credit underwriting policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and sales, to ensure effective promotion of credit products and services to target customers.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and changes in lending regulations to ensure the organization is adhering to best practices and identifying new opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline from reputable university and have minimum 2 years of working experience
  • With a strong Change mindset to transform the banking industry and are ready to face the enriching and exciting challenges
  • Experience as lending sales (lending RM), with a proven track record of handling reputable client 
  • Have good analytical thinking including strong capabilities on financial analysis 
  • Adaptability, creativity, decisiveness and resilience, and demonstrations of good interpersonal and communication skills
